Colour Crush Matte Lipstick in Osaka Plum -New in to The Body Shop

I am excited to talk to you lovelies today about the first of two new lipstick ranges soon to be hitting The Body Shop -the Colour Crush Matte Lipstick, and the Matte Liquid Lipstick.

I adore The Body Shop for their cruelty free skincare and shower gels, scrubs etc. I haven’t tried much of their makeup though so I was excited to give two new products from each range a go, beginning with the Colour Crush Matte Lipstick in shade, 429 Osaka Plum*.

Colour Crush Matte Lipstick in shade, 429 Osaka Plum: The packaging

The packaging is very simple and similar to your standard lipstick bullet; I like that the lid has a firm click to it when closing.

I also like how the colour of the packaging almost matches the shade of the lipstick and I wonder if this adapts to each shade? but without seeing more of the range I can’t be sure.

Application

The product is easy to apply but I wouldn’t say it glides on but this is far from a criticism; with matte bold colours you need precision otherwise it can quickly look a mess.

Being autumn, I also typically have dry, slightly chapped lips at the moment and I anticipated this would affect application. Wrong! Although it’s matte, it dries nicely and sets into the lips without drying them out. The pigment is also very good.

Durability

Typical of high street lipsticks, you expect them to last until it comes to eating and drinking before they slip off and need reapplying. When I first wore the product, I was about an hour away from a (veggie) roast dinner and while I wouldn’t normally wear a bold lip knowing I was about to eat, it’s also a really good way to test a new product.

The Colour Crush Matte Lipstick passed with flying colours! The staying power of this product is very impressive and I would have no problem wearing it for an evening out; ideal as we’re coming up to the Christmas season.

So all in all, I would heartily recommend this Colour Crush Matte Lipstick in Osaka Plum, and I will definitely be checking out more of the range once released into store.

What’s your favourite aumtumnal lipstick?

Until next time x
