Today I thought I would list my top ten pet peeves, things that other people do (or don’t do) that drive me absolutely round the twist. Of course I have a lot more pet peeves than just on this list but for the sake of saving time these are the highlights.
Pet peeves in no particular order:
1. People coughing without covering their mouth, particularly on public transport. I just don’t understand why people think it’s okay to just cough without thinking about others nearby, how selfish and rude do you have to be?
2. Professional sports people chewing gum while competing: it sets a terrible example and is really dangerous, or at least that’s what we were told in every PE lesson at school so…
3. Professional sports people (namely women), wearing big earings and jewellery while competing: this also sets a bad example and goes against what you are told at school. Also, I just couldn’t imagine trying to play i.e. tennis and have chunky jewellery weighing me down and getting in the way.
4. Littering: I literally can’t cope with how some people have a total disregard and ignorance for the environment around them.
5. Spitting: It’s vile!
6. Use of the C-word: Sorry, I don’t like it and I find it extremely offensive.
7. Really shit drivers: Specifically drivers who have no awareness of the road and traffic around them beyond their own car, and those that clog up the middle lane. This is probably one of my most stressful pet peeves.
8. Your/you’re, their/there/they’re etc. Please please please learn the sodding difference.
9. People that think they know better: I love social media but it doesn’t bring out the arsehole in some people doesn’t it? I wrote a post all about people commenting on social media recently.
10. Wearing outside shoes indoors: It’s worse when others come into your home and don’t remove their shoes, but why on earth do you not remove your shoes at home? Why?
