Recent Beauty Purchases – Makeup Revolution, Real Techniques & More

Hey Sweeties,

Forever the beauty junky, I have, over the last month or so, picked up a few more beauty things… as you do!

Beauty haul

First up, the Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar. I have been after this palette for ages, but from what I was lead to believe (true or not), the palette was sold out everywhere. However, this didn’t stop me popping into every Superdrug I passed until I hit the jackpot! On the same visit, Lady Luck was obviously on my side that day as on my way to the till point, I saw (and swiftly picked up) the Real Techniques limited edition Sculpting Set for an amazing £13.99! I practically skipped the whole way home, I was that delighted!

As you know, I love TK Maxx, I am always in one of my nearby stores rummaging around for bargains, usually for home ware but I do always pass by the beauty shelves. I am sure I am not alone, but what disappoints me about the beauty area in the stores is that it’s always such a mess and most of the products are damaged or clearly fingered, so it’s quite rare to actually find something worth buying in good condition. Saying that, a good bargain can still be found, particularly in the case of the Two Faced Foundation Powder! I am in love with my Pink Leopard Blushing Bronzer (review here) which I got for Christmas so I jumped at the opportunity to try another of Too Faced’s products.

Lately, I have been paying a lot of attention to my skincare, particularly in the mornings when until recently changing jobs, I was pressured for time. One of the elements that I felt I wanted to invest in and incorporate more fully is serum, and until recently I have just been using sample products. Now, my knowledge of beauty brands and products is coming along nicely but with skincare, I don’t feel I have anywhere near the kind of knowledge I would like and I therefore rely on reviews heavily. Saying that, I still have my reservations but mainly this is over price and my reluctance to spend a lot on something I am not entirely sure will be worth it. So while in TK MAXX (different store, different day), I decided, quite out of the blue, I would take a gamble on the Elizabeth Arden Timefighting Radiance Serum (£16.99 rrp £45).

Finally (and sneakily) because I simply found myself with time to kill and there was a Boots nearby! (#sorrynotsorry), I purchased Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 006, Pink Blush.

I will post full reviews of the above mentioned products shortly so make sure you follow me and keep an eye out for those posts.

What beauty bargains have you picked up lately?

Until next time x

You honestly can’t go wrong with Real Techniques brushes, they are well worth it! As for the palette… it’s beautiful! I am so enjoying it at the moment so if you can get it I would strongly recommend you do, think it was about £10 -bargain! 🙂
