As you will now be aware following my last post, I have recently become a mum for the first time (here’s that reveal post). With this in mind and for any new parent, Mother’s and Father’s Day gains some extra excitement when they roll around (for the first time) and with Father’s Day next up, I was delighted to have been approached to review one of the special Father’s Day biscuit tins from Biscuiteers*.
I have wanted to try some Biscuiteers iced biscuits for a really long time because I often see their products on social media and they always look super fun and super delicious.
Design & Packaging
There is always a worry that sending anything even mildly breakable in the mail it’ll get damaged, particularly baked goods but the tin and its contents arrived in one piece, phew!
The tin itself is sturdy and will make a wonderful keepsake once its contents have been devoured. I was sent the barbecue themed tin and I love the design on the packaging, it’s so fun and colourful; brilliant for everyone to enjoy!
Once opened, the tin contains four carefully arranged layers with three biscuits on each layer so each tin contains 12 uniquely decorated iced biscuits relating to the theme of the tin. As this was barbecue themed, the biscuits were decorated as food items, tools and accessories associated to all things outdoor cooking.
For us, biscuits are more than something you dunk in your tea, they are works of art carefully hand-iced to perfection. –Biscuiteers.
Taste
The biscuits 100 percent look too good to eat because the designs are so fun, but equally are far too good to allow to go to waste so devour you must!
Our biscuits are our own unique recipe, based upon a traditional twice baked English style biscuit. Its texture is somewhere between the snap of a gingerbread and the crumble of a shortbread. Our vanilla bake uses delicious Madagascan vanilla to give a warm, sweet taste. -Biscuiteers
The biscuits were better than I expected, the texture and sweetness of the vanilla and icing were a perfect blend and totally delicious. Yum!
