It’s the first day of December 2020 and the build up to Christmas has began!
I absolutely love this time of year, December brings a fresh excitement to the air, Christmas music plays on the radio and in the Pearce household, it’s time to put up the Christmas decorations.
The buzzword for 2020 is ‘unprecedented’ and it has quite literally been an unprecedented year and one we’re all itching to see the back of. While the pandemic that has had us in its grip for the past months will still linger on into 2021, at least come January I hope we’ll all be feeling the optimism that comes with a new year.
If things had gone a bit differently this year, this next paragraph might be filled with a ton of things to look forward to: our annual December outing to London to see all the Christmas lights, work Christmas party, festive catch ups with close friends and family, possibly a trip to Olympia horse show, and Christmas shopping. But no, not this year unfortunately.
That being said, it’s important not to lose sight of what we have. Festive activities are fun but missing them for one year won’t do any of us any harm. I’m still undecided if I will be seeing family on Christmas Day.
I won’t be committing myself to a blogmas schedule but I certainly plan to be regularly posting throughout December and make up for the recent silence.
