Home Bargains Haul: Laundry, disinfectant and baby things

A Home Bargains haul is not something I thought would be the kind of thing to post on here but I miss a good old-fashioned haul post, and I haven’t bought any new beauty or skincare in months, so here we are!

Home Bargains Haul

What I Purchased

  1. Zoflora Mandarin & Lime 500ml
  2. Zoflora Summer Breeze 500ml
  3. Washing bags
  4. Dettol clean & fresh multipurpose spray, in scent refreshing green apple
  5. Ultra colour absorber Sheets
  6. Teeny Tiny Tots 2 pack multipurpose flexi-latches (x2)
  7. Teeny Tiny Tots 6 Plug socket covers
  8. Tommee Tippee fun style dummies

1 & 2) Yes I am one of those people that in recent months have gotten slightly obsessed with Zoflora. I actually got my first one a couple of years ago when it was being handed out at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, but since learning more about its uses around the home and the variety of scents, I have begun a bit of a collection.

Mandarin & Lime and Summer Breeze are new out so I snapped them up when I saw them on the shelf and they both smell amazing. The key areas I use Zoflora around the home are – plugholes, bins, reed diffusers, as a spray, and on my floors.

3) These washing bags are so useful for keeping smaller items like baby socks together without getting them stuck in the door of the washing machine.

4) I use this in the kitchen and I love the smell, but I really struggle to get this particular scent anywhere except for Home Bargains.

5) These are a Godsend since my washing basket has doubled (literally, I now have two – one for my husband & I, and one for the baby) but it means particularly for my son’s clothing whereby I’m dealing with whites, whites with coloured patterns, colours, and colours with white patterns and everything else, being able to combine a couple of the loads makes things so much easier.

6 & 7) I’m still a couple of months away from having a crawling baby but that being said, you can never start preparing the house too early. My house is just a death trap waiting to happen so before my son starts moving about, I’m seizing the opportunity to make the necessary changes.

8) I’ve been a bit on the fence about whether or not to introduce a dummy to my son but seeing as he constantly sucks on his fingers, I thought it might be worth seeing if he would prefer a dummy to chew instead. As it happens, he’s not shown much interest but I have them now anyway in case he changes his mind.

The Mrs Hinch Effect

I have always gone to places like Home Bargains, B&M, The Range etc. but I admit I never used to take too much notice of the cleaning aisle until I started following Mrs Hinch et al. However, in the lead up to the birth of my son I wanted the house spotless and this continues (even more so as he gets older), so I lap up the advice, tips and inspiration shared on home cleaning accounts on Instagram.

I spend a lot of time at home currently and so naturally my focus has shifted to really making my house a family nest, somewhere I enjoy being, raising my son, and being welcoming to guests.

As you can appreciate, my time to tidy and clean is in short bursts but it is a way for me to feel like I claw back some control over things since becoming a mum.

Can any other (new) mums relate to this?

Until next time x
