I am a big fan of flowers, both in the home and outdoors. So, when I recently got the opportunity to review a luxury flower bouquet for Cancer Research UK Flowers, where 25 percent of the cost of the bouquet is donated to Cancer Research UK to fund research into beating cancer, it seemed like the perfect match.
It never fails to overwhelm me that whatever else may be going on in our lives, people still donate, often generously, to charity. My family, friends, acquaintances and colleagues, and myself included, all donate money to causes close to our hearts on a rolling monthly basis, as well as donating to the larger national campaigns such as Children in Need, and Sport Relief etc.
This hand-tied bouquet, ‘Luxury Delight‘ has been expertly arranged with Memory Lane roses (light pink), deep water roses (the darker pink variety seen in the Cancer Research UK flowers), and stargazer lilies.
I do think some of the roses in the luxury flower bouquet could have arrived fresher. I think you can agree that they don’t all look as vibrant as they could do. I acknowledge that they have traveled to get to me, but I think some of them appeared to already be wilting and this didn’t really improve once the stems had been trimmed and put in fresh water.
Roses aside, I really liked the addition of the eucalyptus stems; Pinterest is full of eucalyptus in the home pins and I think it works well in the Cancer Research UK Flowers bouquet. I also love the addition of the white flowers; all together, it’s a really pretty, well put together bouquet.
As you can see from the photos, the bouquet arrived with several unopened lilies that took 10 days to open. They are large, beautiful, pink, and have an extremely strong scent. I decided to take out the roses that were on their last legs, so that the lilies had more room which I think did the trick for them eventually opening.
The Cancer Research Flowers Luxury Delight bouquet retails from £40, with 25% of the cost donated to Cancer Research UK to fund research into beating cancer.
Until next time x
