Hey Sweeties,
A couple of weeks ago I ventured into London to attend the Viking Christmas Crafts blogger event* at the Shoreditch Treeehouse. Regular readers might remember I have attended an event with Viking before (here) so I was really looking forward to working with them again.
Shoreditch Treehouse
Getting to the venue took me a little bit longer than planned, but once I was buzzed into the building and climbed the three or four flights of stairs to the top(!), I arrived into a beautiful loft space and warmly greeted, quickly being handed a glass of Prosecco (that was regularly topped up throughout the evening). A delicious looking spread of food was also laid out ready to tuck into.
During the course of the evening, there were two craft-based workshops lead by Jane and Maddie from Tea and Crafting to get involved with. The first involved creating a personalised bauble, followed by making a festive piñata . Both crafts involved using paper shredders and colourful paper.
Personalised Bauble Filled with Shredded Paper
The first craft workshop at the Viking Christmas Crafts event was the personalised baubles, filled with colourful shredded paper of our choosing. We could customise our bauble in a number of ways in addition to the shredded paper using coloured pens, I chose to draw an ‘A’ on the front for my son, Austin, and fill it with blue and yellow paper.
Shredded Paper Festive Piñata
The second workshop involved making our own festive piñata. Once we had completed the main structure by assembling ready-cut pieces of cardboard together, the main bulk of the task was to decorate it by sticking shredded paper to double-sided tape.
Several of us chose to create our piñatas in the shape of a bauble.
A Fun-Filled Festive Evening
Overall the event was really well organised, the venue was stunning, I thoroughly enjoyed the crafting workshops and it was lovely to meet some new blogger friends.
A big thank you to Viking and the team at Search Laboratory for hosting such a fun event to kick off the festive season.
Until next time x
