Hey Sweeties,
At the end of May this year my husband and I went to the final day of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Golf Club. It wasn’t a day I was planning on talking about here to you know, but it turned out to be an amazing day, we both really enjoyed ourselves and I got some nice pictures so…
A Day Out watching the golf at Wentworth: BMW PGA Championship
Sports Fans
My husband and I are quite into our sports, him more so the hardcore fan than me to be fair, but where the opportunity presents itself we try to explore new sporting experiences together.
For example last year on our honeymoon in America, we went to watch two baseball games and a basketball game; I used to play hockey and the day Ian proposed to me (back in 2015) we had been watching the European Championships at Lee Valley.
We also regularly watch cricket and the occasional football match amongst other sports.
However until recently, we hadn’t ventured to the golf together but as we often watch it on TV at home, we decided to see when there would be an opportunity to see it in person and quite by chance, the BMW PGA Championship was only a month or two away.
Travelling to the golf at Wentworth
To get to Wentworth, we drove to Ascot race course and took the specially laid on park & ride bus to the course. On arrival, we made a plan for the day ahead and both agreed we wanted to walk the entire course and see all 18 holes.
As it happened, after a bit of walking we eventually caught up with the three leaders (Francesco Molinari, Rory Mcllroy, and Oliver Fisher) at around hole five or six and watched them for a few holes before walking on.
The weather could not have been better to watch the golf at Wentworth, it was glorious!
Simple Minds
After the golf, Simple Minds played a set and they were really good. I wouldn’t really class myself as a fan but I knew more songs than I thought I would and overall it was a great way to end the day.
Do you like to go and watch live sport?
Until next time x
