All Aboard London’s Newest Open Top Sightseeing Tour with Megabus

A couple of weeks ago (Thursday 19th April), I and some fellow bloggers gathered underneath the London Eye ready for a fun filled evening with Megabus* to celebrate the launch of London’s newest open top sightseeing tour.

VIP Experience on the London Eye

The London Eye is not only one of London’s most popular landmarks, it’s also one of three pick up locations for the Megabus open top sightseeing tour (the other two are the Tower of London, and Park Lane).

We were treated to a VIP experience which meant we were able to enjoy a glass of bubbly as we enjoyed the incredible view over the city of London.

We on-boarded the Megabus bus and began our open top sightseeing tour at about 6:30pm, just as the sun was beginning to set. Ordinarily, this tour will run daily between 10:00 – 17:00.

Spotting a Gap in the Market

Overall, this was without a doubt one of my favourite blogger opportunity/outing to date. I had a fantastic time and considering I have been to London a million times, and even lived there briefly, I still went through areas I have never seen before.

I love that Megabus have spotted a gap in the market and have introduced a non-stop tour as opposed to the hop-on-hop-off variety. I love visiting new places and city trips are some of my favourite, but so often I resort to sightseeing on foot and navigating public transport.

In London, there is so much to see you just cannot do everything on foot, even if you were staying for the week. And if you use the tube, you miss seeing all the interesting architecture and people above ground, so an open top sightseeing tour really is the way forward.

While there is a lot to speak positively about the hop-on-hop-off method, by doing the Megabus tour you can see everything in 2-hours, and go back to the places you want to see in more detail afterwards if you wanted to.

Do you love UK travel? Where would you recommend visiting?

Until next time x

*A big BIG thank you to Megabus for giving me the opportunity to join them for the launch of their open top sightseeing tour of London. All opinions are honest and my own.
