The Night Feed Watch List

Hey Sweeties,

As any new parent will know, the night feed(s) can be long and tiring… but on the plus side it’s a great opportunity (along with those sleepy cuddles during the day) to catch up on all those box sets you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to watch. Once I had got the hang of things, I quite enjoyed the night feeds and typically I would be up for about an hour.

Before going to bed I would make sure I had a couple of snacks ready in the nursery and a full water bottle of squash- breastfeeding is thirsty work!

Upon being woken up, I would scoop Austin up from his crib at the end of my bed and take him into the nursery. Once his nappy was changed, we would settle in the rocking chair, I would get the iPad set up and then we would begin feeding.

Night Feed Watch List

In no particular order, this is what I watched (‘completed’) during my few months night feeding –

  1. The Mummy Diaries: Sam & Billie Faiers (series 5)
  2. 2019 Portrait Artist of the Year
  3. 2019 Landscape Artist of the Year
  4. Fleabag (series 1 & 2)
  5. Mum (series 1 & 2)
  6. Outnumbered (all)
  7. Real Housewives of Cheshire (series 9 & 10)
  8. Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back
  9. This Country (series 1 & 2, )
  10. Big Bang Theory (final season)

We have Netflix but I wanted to catch up on programming from terrestrial television first, and looking back at this list I am quite impressed at how much I got through during those feeds! The above list ended up seeing me through several months before my son began sleeping most of the night.

What the heck did parents do though during the night feed before social media, box sets and just general good television happened? I can hear you all shout reading at me but how on earth do you read (a book) that early without falling to sleep?

What did you watch when you were doing night feeds?

Until next time x
